With nearly 80 percent of precincts reporting, Jesus “Chuy” Garcia called Mayor Rahm Emanuel to concede defeat in the Chicago mayoral race. At the time of Garcia's call, Emanuel had 55.8 percent of the unofficial vote to 44.2 percent for Garcia, The Chicago Tribune reports. Though the race started off close, Emanuel, the former White House aide to Presidents Clinton and Obama, opened up a double-digit lead over Garcia in the closing weeks of the campaign.
