It just makes sense that Joel Burger and Ashley King's impending nuptials will be sponsored by Burger King.
Burger and King have known each other since kindergarten, and became the Brangelina of their elementary school when a motivational speaker told the then-fifth graders that they should be referred to as Burger King. "We have yet to escape the teasing, but we have fully embraced our nickname," King told The State Journal-Register. Their connection to the fast food chain is so strong that Burger and King took their wedding announcement photos in front of a Burger King sign, and decided to pass out drink koozies with the Burger King logo and their wedding date at their July 17 ceremony in Jacksonville, Illinois.
Well, that was the plan until Burger King saw their story in the Journal-Register and gave them a whopper of a wedding present: The company announced it would pay for all of the wedding expenses and gifts for their guests, including personalized Burger King crowns. Burger King does have one request for the happy couple, spokesperson Eric Hirschhorn said: "All we ask in return is that they live happily ever after."
