In the dysfunctional partisan cesspool of Washington, at least one group is trying to get something done — and no, these partisans aren't in Congress, correspondent Hasan Minhaj reported on Tuesday's Daily Show. Democrat Neera Tanden at the Center for American Progress and Freedomworks' Matt Kibbe, a Republican, are jointly trying to reform the prison system to lower the incarceration rate for nonviolent offenders.
Minhaj interviewed both of them separately and then, in a departure from these Daily Show field pieces, together. The adversary here — other than incoming Daily Show host Trevor Noah, who makes a micromanaging cameo — is Congress, so Minhaj had Kibbe brainstorm some hashtags to publicize the effort. He wasn't impressed, so he came up with one of his own, #FUCO, then tried his hand at viral videography. It involves kids. And bleeped-out swearing. And song. Watch below. —Peter Weber
