An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.8 hit 30 miles off the coast of Japan's Miyagi prefecture on Tuesday, and is believed to be an aftershock of the 9.0 quake that devastated the country in March 2011.
The quake was felt as far away as Tokyo, 260 miles southwest. There are no reports of injuries or damage, The Associated Press reports, and there is no risk of a tsunami. The quake and tsunami that struck in 2011 killed more than 18,000 people and destroyed the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant.
