David Letterman's final episode of The Late Show was his fourth-most-viewed show ever since Letterman joined CBS in 1993.

The finale drew 13.76 million viewers, The Late Show's largest audience since February 1994. The February 1994 episode ran after the Olympics and drew 15.4 million viewers.

The episode also gained a 3.1 rating among 18- to 49-year-olds, its best in the demographic since Oprah Winfrey was a Late Show guest in 2005. Letterman's final episode also performed better than all of Wednesday's primetime programming.
