Federal investigators announced Wednesday that Brandon Bostian, the engineer driving the Amtrak train that crashed outside of Philadelphia last month, was not using his cellphone during the accident. The National Transportation Safety Board had considered whether or not Bostian was distracted by his phone to be a crucial part of the investigation. The train, which was en route from Washington to New York, was moving at 106 miles per hour when it derailed, killing eight passengers and injuring more than 200 people. Bostian's lawyer, Robert Goggin, has stated that Bostian suffered a concussion and "has absolutely no recollection whatsoever of the events."
