Homemade bombs found in a sack in an abandoned Boko Haram camp in Bauchi, Nigeria — located in the northeastern region of the country — are reported to have exploded, killing 63 people.

A witness to the blast, Haruna Bukar said that the local militia was patrolling the area when it found the base and discovered the bag, which they then transported to the nearby town of Monguno. Residents were gathering to examine the bag when it exploded.
