Jon Stewart has gleefully been following Donald Trump 2016, so you don't have to
Jon Stewart started out Tuesday's Daily Show with a cri de cœur: "Don't you do this, Trump! Don't you take away the only thing I have left!" Nobody was happier about Donald Trump jumping into the 2016 presidential race than Stewart, but the Donald initially failed to submit the paperwork to make it official. "If Trump's not running, these last shows are gonna be nothing but a cup of hot sadness," Stewart said, making a show of shutting off the lights and walking out.
Except, happy days again: Trump, it turns out, has filed his paperwork. And best of all, he never stopped talking. "How awesome was Trump's post-announcement publicity tour?" Stewart asked — rhetorically, because he mocked all the Trump goodness in some detail. Trump can't win, and he will even help his GOP competitors, Stewart said, because his laughably insane ideas will make the rest of the field look saner by comparison. Win-win-win. "Honestly, let Trump run," Stewart said. "Let's have fun. What's the harm of riding this crazy train as long as it'll take us?" Well, um, Trump could get the last laugh? Watch below. Peter Weber
