Very few foods have permission to be rainbow-colored: Skittles, M&Ms, Fruit Loops, and those rainbow Goldfish all get a pass. As of today, however, we'll have to debate if rainbow-colored Doritos are an acceptable addition to the list:
Doritos gets props, at least, for being a #brand doing a good thing: Proceeds from the purple, blue, green, orange, and red snacks will go to the nonprofit It Gets Better, a campaign that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth (the rainbow chips, of course, being inspired by the pride flag). Each of the limited edition bags requires a minimum $10 donation through the Doritos website, which seems like a lot for a 'Cool Ranch' flavored chip decked out in fancy colors (a 16-ounce bag of the usual orange kind sells for about $4 at Walmart).
That said, keep in mind that you're splurging because you want to donate to a good cause, not because you really, really, really want to taste a green chip. Whatever your motivation, if you want a bite, then you can buy your bag over here.
