Jeb Bush describes the massage and martini-fueled life of George H.W. Bush, 91
Jeb Bush's presidential campaign might seem like it would be a family affair, but according to Jeb, his father hasn't been all that present. Rather than offering Jeb some words of wisdom on how to navigate difficult political situations and revamp his struggling campaign, Jeb tells The Boston Globe that his dad, former President George H.W. Bush, 91, has been busy with other activities:
"He's lucid and he watches this stuff and he knows what's going on. But his life has been simplified to unconditional love, having a martini at 6 o'clock at night, getting massages, watching whatever he watches — Fox and CNN probably. There's not a lot of advice given." [Jeb Bush, The Boston Globe]
George H.W.'s preoccupation is probably at least part of the reason Jeb says he feels "no weight of family expectations, no feeling the pressure of a dynasty on his shoulders," The Boston Globe reports. "No one is going to be a worse critic of me than me," Jeb said.
Jeb is currently in the midst of a comeback campaign in which he says he's learning to "toot [his] horn a little better." Read the full story at The Boston Globe.
