A blast Tuesday night at a fruit and vegetable market in the northeastern Nigerian city of Yola killed at least 32 people and injured dozens more.
The market was crowded with shoppers when the explosion occurred, and shop owner Alhaji Ahmed told Reuters the ground was "covered with dead bodies." No one has claimed responsibility for the blast yet, but officials will likely turn their attention to the Boko Haram group, which has killed thousands of people across the country, Al Jazeera reports. In October, 27 people were killed in Yola after a bomb went off during Friday afternoon prayers, and the city has been targeted before by Boko Haram suicide bombers and improvised explosive devices.
