In just four days, Muslims United for San Bernardino raised five times its fundraising goal. The campaign, launched by a Muslim neurologist through his health nonprofit, quickly amassed over $100,000 from Muslim Americans across the country, the Los Angeles Times reports. The final sum will be donated to the families of the victims of last week's San Bernardino shooting, allegedly carried out by a Muslim married couple, that left 14 dead and 21 injured. Over a thousand people have already donated to the campaign.

The executive director of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, which has endorsed the campaign and which represents 78 mosques and Muslim organizations, says that donors "hope to raise $250,000."
