Bill O'Reilly seemingly defends Trump's refugee plan as a 'brilliant' ploy
Bill O'Reilly isn't necessarily rallying behind Donald Trump's proposal to ban Muslim refugees from entering the U.S, but in a recent Fox segment with Charles Krauthammer, he certainly didn't condemn the plan, either.
Looking back at a clip from the fifth-round Republican debate in Las Vegas Tuesday night in which Trump calls for closing off parts of the internet to ISIS and questions why terrorists "can kill us, but we can't kill them," Krauthammer is quick to ding the real estate magnate's suggestions as "nonsensical." O'Reilly, however, says he sees Trump's proposal as a "brilliant" vote-getting ploy. "It's designed to get votes," O'Reilly said. "It's designed to get people emotionally allied with him."
Besides, O'Reilly suggests, Trump doesn't actually mean it. "You believe that Donald Trump would murder people if he were president of the United States?" he asks. Krauthammer responds: "If he doesn't want to, why did he say it?"
