North Dakota man arrested for allegedly plotting to steal Obama's dogs
A man from North Dakota allegedly plotted to steal the first family's dogs, driving all the way to Washington, D.C. in a car full of weapons, the Secret Service said Friday. Scott D. Stockert, 49, claimed he was Jesus Christ and also the son of John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe, and said he planned to run for president, according to court documents reported by The Washington Post. Stockert, however, was allegedly in D.C. with the intent of taking one of the Obamas' Portuguese water dogs.
The Secret Service found Stockert in a D.C. hotel and arrested him after learning he was not registered to own a gun, but had a 12-gauge pump shotgun, a bolt-action .22-caliber rifle, and 350 rounds of ammunition in his car.
