Tyga tells Jimmy Kimmel why Paul McCartney was not allowed into his Grammy party

Tyga tries to explain why Paul McCartney was barred from his Grammy party

On Monday night, Sir Paul McCartney, Beck, and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins were turned away — twice — from Tyga's Grammy afterparty at a Hollywood club. On Tuesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel vowed to get to the bottom of this outrage. So he invited Tyga on his show to explain himself. The running gag is that a bouncer is keeping Tyga out of Kimmel's green room, even as he lets other people — including a person dressed as a tiger — past the velvet rope.

Tyga, as he had on Twitter, pleaded ignorance. "I had no knowledge — I was inside performing," he said. If he'd known, he would have brought McCartney on stage with him. In fact, Tyga added, it wasn't even his party — he was just paid to perform there. Kimmel suggested that it was the fire marshal, not the bouncer, who had kept McCartney and Beck out of the club, and Tyga embraced that explanation: "Yeah, tweet the fire marshal, don't tweet me." Unlike Monday night's debacle, this one has a happy ending, including a personal invitation for McCartney to Tyga's next show, personal escort included. Watch below. Peter Weber
