The death toll from the most powerful earthquake Ecuador has seen since 1979 has risen to 350 people, the nation's security minister said Monday. Thousands more were injured.
Between 3,000 and 5,000 people are in need of temporary housing, the Spanish Red Cross told The Associated Press. As many as 100,000 people could need assistance of some sort.
Rescue workers are still searching for victims and survivors in the rubble.
