300 arrested in D.C. for 'unlawful demonstration activities'

Around 300 demonstrators were arrested in Washington, D.C. on the last day of non-violent protests organized by Democracy Spring. Monday's arrests bring the total number of arrests to 1,240 since the group began demonstrating a week ago.
"There was kind of a mutual respect," one protester, Annabel Park, said of her arrest. "It was a beautiful experience."
Democracy Spring, and the related group, Democracy Awakening, held sit-ins and demonstrations to "demand Congress take immediate action to end the corruption of big money in our politics and ensure free and fair elections in which every American has an equal voice."
