Hillary Clinton says half her cabinet members would be women
If elected president, Hillary Clinton would be far from the only woman wielding power in the White House. In an MSNBC town hall Monday night, Clinton said she plans to appoint women to half her cabinet positions. "Well, I am going to have a cabinet that looks like America, and 50 percent of America is women," Clinton said in response to host Rachel Maddow's question of whether Clinton would match Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's pledge to fill half his cabinet positions with women.
In President Obama's current cabinet, only seven of the 23 positions are occupied by women — about 30 percent.
