Navy Blue Angels pilot dies after jet crashes near Nashville

A Navy Blue Angels pilot died Thursday after his F/A-18 crashed near Nashville, officials said.
The Blue Angels were practicing for the upcoming Great Tennessee Air Show when the accident happened, and officials said it appears the pilot was not able to eject from the jet. A spokeswoman for the Naval Air Forces said five other Blue Angels aircraft were flying at the same time, but none were involved in the crash and they all landed safely.
Earlier in the day, an Air Force Thunderbird F-16 crashed outside Petersen Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, but the pilot was able to safely eject. The Thunderbirds were part of a flyover at the Air Force Academy's graduation ceremony, attended by President Obama, and Obama later met with the F-16 pilot, ABC News reports.
