On Monday morning, government officials in Jordan said that three intelligence officers and two other employees of the intelligence department were killed in a "terrorist attack" at the sprawling Baqaa refugee camp on the outskirts of Amman. The attack, which took place at about 7 a.m. local time, is unusual for Jordan. Government spokesman Mohammed Momani called the attack "cowardly" and said it was directed at the intelligence agency office at the camp, the largest of six Palestinian refugee camps set up in 1968 after the Arab-Israeli war.
