Obama will 'go out guns ablazing' against Donald Trump

President Obama reportedly can hardly wait to get back on the campaign trail. After months of staying mum on the presidential election, Obama is now in "active conversations" with Hillary Clinton's campaign about how he can help her cause, The New York Times reports, and Obama's communications director Jennifer Psaki told the paper that the president "has indicated he wants to spend a lot of time on the campaign trail."
The task Obama is most looking forward to? Going after Donald Trump. Clinton's communication director Jennifer Palmieri is convinced that Obama is going to be just the guy their campaign needs to draw the line between Clinton and Trump. "There's no one better to lay out the two paths voters will face in the fall elections, and he is particularly strong at making the economic argument for her," Palmieri said of Obama, adding that it's "hard to imagine a more convincing advocate for her" considering the two are "former opponents." David Axelrod, former senior adviser to Obama's presidential campaign, predicts Obama can nail the role of "the guy who provides reality checks, but more importantly focuses people on the stakes of this election and the stark differences between the candidates."
Right now, the only thing Obama needs before he unleashes on Trump is the right moment to endorse Clinton. Read the full story on the Clinton campaign's big plans for the president over at The New York Times.
