Leonardo DiCaprio ordered to testify in Wolf of Wall Street defamation case

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio will be required to testify in a case alleging his 2013 film, The Wolf of Wall Street, defamed a former Wall Street executive by portraying him as a "criminal, a drug user, and a degenerate."

DiCaprio's attorneys attempted to keep him uninvolved, arguing his knowledge of the screenplay development was too limited to be of use. But lawyers for plaintiff Andrew Greene prevailed, pointing to DiCaprio's role as a co-producer and his meetings with the screenwriter and director Martin Scorsese during the development process.

Greene says the movie caused his fiancée to end their engagement and lost him $15 million by damaging his reputation.
