Hillary Clinton taunted Donald Trump with the Olympics during her economic speech Thursday in Warren, Michigan. While contrasting her trade position with Trump's, Clinton suggested the Republican nominee simply lacked the courage to compete in a challenging global market. "If Team USA was as fearful as Trump, Michael Phelps and Simone Biles would be cowering in the locker room, afraid to come out to compete," Clinton said, referring to the gold medal-winning swimmer and gymnast.
Clinton said she would "make trade work for us and not against us," instead of just deciding to "cut ourselves off from the world." "Trump may talk a big game on trade, but his approach is based on fear, not strength," Clinton said. "Fear that we can't compete with the rest of the world even when the rules are fair. Fear that our country has no choice but to hide behind walls."
