Democrats doctored photos to make it look like this Republican is best pals with Trump. But they've never met.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) went to some serious lengths to draw a connection between Donald Trump and incumbent Republican Rep. David Jolly (Fla.) in its new TV ad for Florida's 13th Congressional District race. From watching the ad, it would be pretty easy to assume Trump and Jolly are great pals:
That is, of course, if you don't notice the word "dramatization" flash in the bottom left corner of the screen each time the two men are shown together — because as it turns out, Jolly has never met Trump. Nor, as he pointed out, does he even own a "red-and-white striped tie." Every time Jolly seemingly appears alongside Trump in the ad, it's really just Jolly's head superimposed onto whoever was really photographed with Trump.
Jolly said the ad's "dramatization" is a step too far. His attorneys have sent out a warning to local TV stations that it's a "patently false advertisement," and Jolly has threatened to sue TV stations that don't stop airing the ad. Moreover, the ad fails to take into account that Jolly has criticized Trump on numerous occasions and said he would not be voting for him.

The DCCC argued it's "clear from both the context of the ad and the accompanying disclaimer that the images are not real." Rather, the doctored images are meant to "depict what the future might look like if voters support" Jolly, the DCCC said, and the group has asked stations to keep airing the ad.
