The final presidential debate veered from immigration to suspected Russian hacking of the U.S. election, after moderator Chris Wallace asked about a Hillary Clinton speech included in a WikiLeaks document dump. When Clinton asked if Donald Trump would renounce Russian interference in the U.S. election, Trump said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no respect for Clinton. "Well, that's because he'd rather have a puppet of the United States," Clinton said. "No puppet," Trump said. "No, you're the puppet."
When Wallace later pressed Trump on whether he thinks any foreign power shouldn't meddle in the U.S. election, Trump said, yes, "by Russia or anyone else. I don't know Putin."
