Gimlet just announced three new star-studded podcasts

Attention, podcast fans! Gimlet Media, the company behind such popular podcasts as StartUp and Reply All, today introduced three new shows: a true crime series called Crimetown, a narrative nonfiction show called Undone, and the company's first scripted series, a psychological thriller called Homecoming.
Gimlet Media was created in 2014 by radio veterans Matt Lieber and Alex Blumberg (whose voice you might recognize from This American Life and Planet Money). Since its launch, Gimlet has seen tremendous growth: Today, its podcasts are downloaded more than seven million times each month. "The last year for us has been about, how do we expand our slate and do that to satisfy the thirst from our audience for more content, but also put out things we feel proud of?" says Caitlin Kenney, Gimlet's head of new show development.
Now, the company is looking to capitalize on that popularity and expand into new genres and new audiences, and to do so it's enlisting the help of some award-winning celebrities. The scripted thriller, Homecoming, is voiced by Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Ex Machina), Oscar-nominated actress Catherine Keener, and David Schwimmer (ahem… Ross from Friends). And true crime fans will be happy to learn that the new show Crimetown comes from the creators of HBO's The Jinx.
