Rex Tillerson, the ExxonMobil CEO rumored to be President-elect Donald Trump's top pick for secretary of state, would excel in the position because he is much more than a businessman, Trump said in an interview with Fox News' Chris Wallace on Sunday.
"He's a world-class player," Trump explained. "He's in charge of the largest company in the world. He's in charge of an oil company that's pretty much double the size of its next, nearest competitor. It's a company that's been unbelievably managed. And to me a great advantage is he knows many of the players, and he knows them well," Trump continued. "He does massive deals in Russia. He does massive deals for the company — not for himself — for the company."
Per Forbes, ExxonMobil is the world's ninth-largest company. The largest company is a Chinese bank.
