The WNBA is finally making its video game debut

Get hyped, hoop heads: You'll soon be able to pretend you have Diana Taurasi's scoring touch, Brittney Griner's rim-shaking hops, or Maya Moore's chasedown tenacity. EA Sports announced Thursday that for the first time, all 12 WNBA teams and their complete rosters will be available for play in NBA Live 18.
The women's teams won't be available in career mode, but players will be able to commandeer any of the 12 teams, from the Atlanta Dream to the Washington Mystics, in both online and offline one-off play. The 2017 All-Star teams will also be available.
The WNBA's entry into NBA Live 18 follows the incorporation of women's teams into EA Sports' FIFA 16 and FIFA 17. EA Sports senior producer Mike Mahar told Polygon that sometime in the future, players from the women's league might be available for use in NBA Live 18's The Streets mode, one of the game's single-player career options for gameplay.
