Amazon launches children's book subscription service
Amazon announced a new subscription service tailored for parents and children, Fortune reported Tuesday. Available for Amazon Prime members, the subscription box will include a selection of age-appropriate books for different age groups.
Amazon divides its selections into four groups: from birth to 2 years old, 3 to 5 years old, 6 to 8 years old, and 9 to 12 years old. The first age group will receive four board books per box, while the older groups will receive two hardcover picture books or children's novels, Fortune explained.
The box will be available as a one-, two-, or three-month subscription, and priced at $22.99 per box, it's more affordable than other children's book subscription boxes, Ars Technica reported. And if the books included in the box total a price less than that, Amazon will discount that month's box to the lower total. Customers even get the added benefit of getting to preview the books before they're sent so that they won't get duplicates of books they already have.
Amazon Prime Book Box is currently offered by invitation only. Get your invitation at Amazon, or read more about the subscription service at Ars Technica.
