Trump says it's embarrassing for the U.S. to allow protesters following Kavanaugh hearing

In a new interview following the chaotic Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearing Tuesday, President Trump said that it's embarrassing for the United States that protests are allowed.

The first day of hearings for Trump's Supreme Court nominee was interrupted frequently by protesters. While speaking to The Daily Caller afterward, Trump said, "I think it's embarrassing for the country to allow protesters. You don't even know what side the protesters are on.”

Trump also said that "in the old days, we used to throw them out." Many individuals who interrupted the Kavanaugh hearing Tuesday were, in fact, removed from the building and arrested.

During his campaign, Trump frequently complained that people who interrupted his rallies were not treated more violently, once saying he wanted to punch a protester in the face and adding that in the "old days," a protester would be "carried out on a stretcher."
