Apple spoiled its big announcement on its own website

Someone burst the hype bubble surrounding Apple's big Wednesday announcement at its headquarters in Cupertino, California. It was Apple. On its own website.

Beyond obvious expectations for a bigger, more expensive iPhone, Apple was able to keep most of the revelations slated for its Wednesday product launch under wraps. That is, until techies peaked into the Apple website's publicly available XML files. Hidden inside some HTML, Apple had listed what appears to be the names, sizes, and colors of its newest phones, as well as some Apple Watch details.

It looks like Apple's newest iPhones will be called the XS, XS Max, and XR, per screenshots posted by tech site All Things How on Wednesday. The XS seems to have a 5.8-inch display, the XS Max boasts a larger 6.5-inch screen, and both come in space gray, silver, or gold. The XR will probably be a cheaper model of the new phone, and its 6.1-inch display looks to be available in black, white, red, yellow, blue, and coral.

If the code is correct, you can also count on a ton of new silicone and leather cases for the XS and XS Max, The Verge reveals. The code also confirms a new Apple Watch Series 4, which was expected ahead of the event. Wristbands for the fourth series look like they will be a bit wider and come in some fun colors, including nectarine, hibiscus, and lavender gray. Apple's special event begins streaming live at 1 p.m. ET.
