Marie Kondo tries to help a skeptical Jimmy Kimmel tidy up his office

Organization and downsizing guru Marie Kondo's new Netflix show, Tidying Up, has inspired a lot of people to clean their closets of things that don't spark joy. And Jimmy Kimmel took his turn on Tuesday's Kimmel Live. If you haven't seen Kondo's show, he said, "basically she makes people get rid of stuff. So we've been doing our show for 16 years, I'm a pack rat and I'm a slob, too, and I've accumulated a lot of stuff. So someone thought it would be a good idea to ask Marie Kondo to help. Now, none of this is set up, this is really my office and how it really looks here at the show, and — well, and here's Marie Kondo giving me a little help."

What followed was essentially a 6-minute version of Tidying Up, and like a lot of Kondo's subjects, Kimmel wasn't initially excited about the project. For her part, Kondo was puzzled by the rumor that she thinks you should have no more than 30 books. There was some joy sparked, though, and the results speak for themselves. Watch below. Peter Weber
