Here's the terrifying first footage from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark


Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is back to give you nightmares once again.
CBS Films on Sunday released the first footage from the new horror movie based on the book series, dropping not one but four different TV spots throughout the night. The first shows a terrifying zombie lurching around a house looking for her missing toe, an adaptation of a story from the first book. The second and third clip include equally horrifying creatures: the Jangly Man and the Pale Lady. A fourth spot, which aired near the end of the Super Bowl, features the world's worst breakout and is easily the most revolting.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is produced by Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro and directed by André Øvredal (The Autopsy of Jane Doe). It hits theaters on Aug. 9. Check out the trailers below. Brendan Morrow
