The Sandlot cast is reuniting for a TV reboot


It's been for-ev-ver since The Sandlot came out — 26 years to be exact — and now the cast is getting back together for a television reboot of the cult classic.
The Sandlot, released in 1993 but set in 1962, followed a group of baseball-loving kids as they experienced the joys of summer. In an interview with the Rain Delay podcast, writer-director David Mickey Evans revealed that a series about the characters has been picked up.
"I already got all the original cast members back," he said. "It takes place in 1984, when they're all like 33 years old and they all have children of their own, and that's all I can tell you." Evans was not able to reveal which streaming service has bought the show, or what it will be called. The gang got back together last year to celebrate The Sandlot's 25th anniversary, and they reminisced on the Today show about the movie and what they hear today from fans. Watch that video below.
