New Avengers: Endgame trailer seems to confirm fan theory

As Captain Marvel continues to tear up the box office, a new trailer for Avengers: Endgame featuring Carol Danvers just debuted.
The trailer released on Thursday revisits some classic moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, emphasizing the conclusive nature of Endgame with clips from Iron Man, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Thor. Tony Stark delivers more of his message to Pepper Potts as he remains stranded in space, while back on Earth, the Avengers grapple with the aftermath of Thanos' snap from Avengers: Infinity War.
The Avengers also discuss a plan to save those who perished in Infinity War, a plan that's not revealed but that Natasha Romanoff says they have a duty to try. Ant-Man is also seen looking around confused, having apparently emerged from the Quantum Realm. Near the end of the footage, the Avengers assemble wearing fancy new armor as Tony Stark and Nebula are seen with the team back on Earth.

The trailer ends with the reveal of Carol Danvers, who is not wearing her Captain Marvel suit. She meets Thor, who declares when she doesn't flinch at him summoning his weapon, "I like this one!" Captain Marvel features prominently on the new poster for the film released on Thursday.
Although Marvel is still keeping the plot of Endgame fairly vague, this trailer seems to confirm there will be a time jump in the film; as Vanity Fair's Joanna Robinson points out, Black Widow has multiple completely different hair colors and lengths during the footage Marvel has shown. The use of the old Marvel clips, as well as the talk of going back and starting over, also fits with the fan theory that the movie will involve using time travel to reverse Thanos' actions.
