To celebrate the U.S. Women's National Team's 2019 World Cup victory, New York City is throwing a ticker tape parade on Wednesday.
Mayor Bill de Blasio's office announced the parade just minutes after the team defeated the Netherlands 2-0 during the finals on Sunday. It will take place in lower Manhattan's Canyon of Heroes, starting at 9:30 a.m. There will also be a ceremony at City Hall, with a limited number of tickets available beginning at 2 p.m. ET Monday.
The last ticker tape parade held by the city was in 2015, celebrating that year's women's soccer team for their World Cup victory.
