Michelle Obama discusses motherhood with Meghan Markle in new British Vogue interview

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, interviewed former First Lady Michelle Obama as guest editor for British Vogue's September issue, and the responses from Obama that Markle says left her "somewhat speechless" have now been published.
Markle writes that it "wasn't a huge ask" when she requested Obama participate in the issue, considering she would just need to answer a couple of brief questions. But Markle says that "what was sent back to me, however, left me somewhat speechless" in that the answers formed a "thoughtful, reflective and beautifully curated narrative – a gentle reminder not of how but of why she has become such a globally respected public figure."
Obama's responses include discussing her Girls Opportunity Alliance program, reflecting on motherhood as a "masterclass in letting go," saying that a piece of advice she offers her daughters is that "becoming who we are is an ongoing process," and that the most beautiful sound she's ever heard is that of newborn Malia and Sasha. "But there is something so magical about having a baby in the house," Obama writes. "Time expands and contracts; each moment holds its own little eternity. I'm so excited for you and Harry to experience that, Meghan. Savour it all."
