Joe Biden is teaming up with Lady Gaga at the Oscars to talk about sexual violence
Vice President Joe Biden will introduce Lady Gaga's performance of her Oscar-nominated song "Till It Happens to You" at the Academy Awards Sunday night, White House officials announced Thursday. And after introducing the pop star's song about campus sexual assault, the VP will give a presentation advocating for the administration's "It's On Us" campaign about raising awareness about the problem of sexual violence on college campuses.
The Los Angeles Times reports that when Biden heard Lady Gaga's song — which she co-wrote with songwriter Diane Warren for the documentary Hunting Ground — was up for an Oscar, he thought it would be the perfect chance to highlight the cause. The video for Lady Gaga's song already includes a link to the campaign's website.
