Technology exists to make our lives easier, and now you don't even need to open a cumbersome email window to message the president of the United States. On Wednesday, the White House launched a Facebook messenger account to receive letters to President Obama.
"Every day, President Obama reads 10 letters that were sent to him by the American people," the White House said in a Facebook announcement. "Now, our goal is to bring the conversation to even more Americans."
The messaging app is still a little unsophisticated, as Recode demonstrated, but it is still a natural addition to the White House's fleet of social media accounts, including Obama's Twitter and Michelle Obama's Snapchat.
