Hope Hicks just got hired by Fox
The White House swapped Bill Shine for Hope Hicks.
Hicks, the former White House communications director, landed a job at Fox, Variety reported Monday. Fox is the new company that will be created after Disney completes its acquisition of 21st Century Fox assets.
The Los Angeles company will run Fox News, Fox Sports, and the broadcast network; Hicks will serve as the chief communications officer and as an executive vice president. Following Hicks' departure, former Fox News co-president Bill Shine took over as her successor, additionally serving as an assistant to President Trump, much like Hicks did.

Rave reviews from former White House colleagues may have boosted Hicks' profile in nabbing the new job: Staffers were reportedly worried that the administration would crumble without her. "She's the glue to the entire place," a source said back in March. Even so, she reportedly "doesn't particularly like politics," so something more politics-adjacent may turn out to be a better fit.
Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders applauded Hicks for landing the gig. "Fox won't find anyone smarter or more talented than Hope Hicks," she wrote on Twitter. "So happy for my friend."
