Comedians love her

In a sketch called "Melania Moments", Saturday Night Live's Cecily Strong impersonated Melania Trump as the long-running comedy show returned for its 42nd season.

The segment "takes a page from the classic SNL series, 'Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey'," says Entertainment Weekly, "complete with a retro, synthy soundtrack" in which the comedian would offer inane musings over stock images of the natural world.

In the sketch, the former model is looking down on the world from her lofty perch in Trump Tower while a male voiceover narrates her inner monologue: "She saw a man walk just out of sight and wondered, 'What happens to them, to the people, once they leave Fifth Avenue? Where do they go? Do they disappear? Is there a Sixth Avenue? Is there a Fourth Avenue? One day, I'd really like to know."

It is not the first time Saturday Night Live has lampooned Melania. Strong appeared as the former model in a sketch last year, sitting beside husband Donald, played by Taran Killam, to welcome viewers to "our humble gold house".
