HP Pavilion AIO 2017: The new ultra-thin all-in-one
Company targets Apple iMac with AIO that is 40 per cent thinner than the outgoing model
Launching under its high-end Pavilion brand, the new AIO desktop boasts an ultra-thin 0.3in (8.5mm) design that the company says is 40 per cent thinner than the outgoing model. The hardware is packed into a small section at the bottom of the screen, so there's no need for an external computer tower.
At the bottom of the screen sits a B&O-tuned hi-fi system covered by a thin fabric, which HP says improves "acoustic transparency for a richer, clearer, immersive sound".

Inside, TechRadar says the new AIO is powered by a seventh-generation AMD quad-core processor that's paired to an AMD graphics chip. It also comes with 12GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive.
Entry-level models will be available with 1080p full HD displays, says Digital Trends, while 4K resolution screen options can be specced on versions at the top of the range.
It can be chosen in either 24 or 27in configurations, although The Verge says only the 24in model gets the ultra-thin display – with the larger version "showing thicker bezel edges" and an iMac-style rounded back panel.
HP has also retained "the pop-up privacy camera which automatically disables the camera and microphone when hidden", adds the site.

Prices and a release date have yet to be confirmed, but Digital Trends says it is expected to cost in the region of $750 (£570). This would make it substantially cheaper than the entry-level 21.5in Apple iMac, which costs £1,049 and has 4GB less of RAM.
