InfoWars host removed after breaching platform’s abusive behaviour policy

Far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his InfoWars website have been permanently banned from Twitter, after content that Jones posted reportedly violated the platform’s abusive behaviour policy.
On Wednesday, Jones had livestreamed a video of himself harassing CNN reporter Oliver Darcy outside a congressional hearing where Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg testified about election interference and alleged anti-conservative bias on the platform, CNN says.
He also confronted senator Marco Rubio during a media briefing, getting into a “hallway spat” with the Florida Republican, Bloomberg says.

“The radio host is best known for spreading unsubstantiated allegations about tragic events, including 9/11,” the BBC reports. He is currently being sued by parents of children killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting, which he claims was staged.
Jones had already previously been suspended from Twitter for one week. Facebook, Apple and YouTube removed Jones’ content from their platforms last month.
