Watch Brian Williams unwittingly perform 'Rappers Delight' on The Tonight Show
The video editing is so good it almost seems like a hoax
The spliced-together video is an internet tradition, usually compiled by enthusiastic amateurs with, apparently, a lot of time on their hands. On Wednesday night's Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon's creative team showed how the art form can look when it's done on a big budget.
The answer: Seamless. Almost suspiciously so. Through what must have been hours of editing, Brian Williams performs the Sugarhill Gang's 1979 hit "Rapper's Delight," with an assist from Lester Holt. Williams was 20 when the song was released. He should add it to his karaoke repertoire. Or leave his rap stylings to the folks at The Tonight Show. Watch above.
