Farrell’s drunken love

Colin Farrell fully earned his tabloid nickname “The Lusty Leprechaun,” said Mickey Rapkin in Elle. When the Irish actor arrived in Hollywood 14 years ago, he quickly became known for his drunken carousing and womanizing. He was linked with Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, and Demi Moore, and filmed a sex tape with a Playboy model. “The whole thing was horrifying,” says Farrell, 37. “You know, press Record. ‘Taboo. Isn’t this interesting. You should have taken the tape with you.’” He filed a lawsuit to stop the video from going public. “I was deposed for four hours explaining why I didn’t want it to be released. God forbid it’s an On Demand movie in a hotel room and my mother says, ‘Oh, I haven’t seen this work of my son’s,’ and hits Purchase.” When he sobered up eight years ago, he worried that he wouldn’t be able to have sex without the help of booze. “I made love to a woman about two and a half years after I got clean, and it was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. It was in the afternoon. The windows and curtains were open. It was lovely. But it was terrifying. I was just used to drunkenness and dark rooms and clubs and toilets.”
