22 Jump Street: Watch the raunchy first trailer
The sequel to 2012's surprise hit 21 Jump Street sends stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum off to college

When 2012's action/comedy 21 Jump Street earned surprisingly positive reviews and a healthy box-office gross, MGM rushed a sequel into production — and no one is more surprised than the film's stars. "Ladies, nobody gave a shit about the Jump Street reboot, but you got lucky," says Nick Offerman's Deputy Chief Hardy to officers Morton Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Greg Jenko (Channing Tatum) in the first trailer for the sequel. "So now this department has invested a lot of money to make sure Jump Street keeps going. The only problem is the Koreans bought the church back, so we're moving you across the road to 22 Jump Street."
That theme of marginal escalation defines the 22 Jump Street trailer, which sees Tatum and Hill's characters graduate from undercover cops in a high school to undercover cops in a college. Throughout the trailer, we get glimpses of more banter, more drinking, and an even more ridiculous car chase. Along the way, we see a few familiar faces from the original outing, including Dave Franco and Rob Riggle.
Will the unlikely partnership between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum prove as fruitful the second time around? 21 Jump Street was one of the most unexpected and pleasant surprises of 2012: A big-screen remake of an old TV show that managed to be far funnier and smarter than its mercenary origins might have indicated. Expectations for 22 Jump Street are a good deal higher, but we're hoping that Schmidt and Jenko can pull off another successful case when 22 Jump Street arrives in theaters in June 2014.
