Come fall, my mind turns to full-bodied reds, and sagrantinos fit the bill nicely, said Dan Radil in the Bellingham, Wash., Herald. 2007 Tenuta Castelbuono Sagrantino di Montefalco ($37). “Incredible blueberry aromatics” float above “an underlying layer of sweet plum” in this “grippy” sagrantino.
2007 Scacciadiavoli Sagrantino di Montefalco ($39). This “blockbuster” sagrantino delivers dark fruit flavors and “a slightly spicy finish.”
