Sagrantino: A fall favorite

The deep flavor of sagrantino wine plays well with fall comfort foods.

Come fall, my mind turns to full-bodied reds, and sagrantinos fit the bill nicely, said Dan Radil in the Bellingham, Wash., Herald. These “super-inky, super-tannic” wines are produced in Italy’s Umbria region and rank “among the most muscular wines I’ve ever tried.” But given time to aerate, their deep flavors play well with fall comfort foods.
