“No American wine-growing region excites me about Riesling as much as the Finger Lakes of New York,” said Eric Asimov in The New York Times. As good as the area’s Rieslings have been, they get “better and better.” Riesling benefits from the region’s cool climate, and the best wines from the area are “resonant and deep, with captivating textures and reverberant flavors.”
2012 Dr. Konstantin Frank Dry Riesling ($16). Our panel’s best-value pick was also the overall favorite. It’s energetic yet balanced, with “lingering” mineral flavors.
2012 Anthony Road Dry Riesling ($19). This focused, “tangy” wine offers “juicy, complex aromas of flowers and yellow fruits.”

2010 Bloomer Creek Tanzen Dame Auten Vineyard First Harvest ($33). Though our panel loved this Riesling’s tropical flavors and tannic texture, it’s “not for everyone.”
