1. FX is developing an American Psycho TV show
If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that there just aren't enough primetime TV dramas about serial killers. Fortunately, FX has recognized this staggering omission and announced plans to develop a series called American Psycho, which would serve as a follow-up to Bret Easton Ellis' 1991 novel (and its subsequent Christian Bale-starring film adaptation). The Hollywood Reporter says the TV show would follow original protagonist Patrick Bateman as he takes on a protege who is "every bit his equal" — because that premise worked pretty well in American Psycho 2: All American Girl, right? 2. You'll be able to see Ant-Man a few months earlier than planned
Can't wait for the big-screen debut of Marvel superhero Ant-Man? You're in luck, for the wait will be a little shorter than expected. The studio has pushed the film from its original planned released date of November 6, 2015 to July 31, 2015, giving the summer the 37th superhero movie it so desperately needed. Entertainment Weekly notes that the film will hit theaters just two weeks after the release of the tentatively titled Batman vs. Superman sequel — so just to be safe, box-office prognosticators should probably get their "Ant-Man gets crushed" headlines ready now. 3. Wolverine almost showed up in the first Spider-Man movie
The original Spider-Man hit theaters in 2002, a full decade before The Avengers combined characters like Iron Man and Captain America into the third-highest grossing movie of all time. But in a recent interview with The Huffington Post, star Hugh Jackman revealed that he almost ended up pioneering the cinematic superhero mash-up by cameoing as Wolverine in Spider-Man. 4. Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" video set the VEVO record for most views in 24 hours
On Sunday, Miley Cyrus tweeted that she hoped the music video for her new single "Wrecking Ball" would break VEVO's record for most views in a 24-hour period. As it turns out, some dreams really do come true: In the first day of its release, the song's video scored a whopping 12.3 million views, smashing a record set by One Direction in July. 5. U.K. charity shops are overloaded with Fifty Shades of Grey
The recent kerfuffle over the lead actors cast in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation has catapulted E.L. James' mommy porn bestseller back into headlines, but anyone who would like to secure a copy of the book for themselves won't have to look very hard. According to the marketing manager of WeBuyBooks.co.uk, the website has amassed "a paper mountain" of used copies sold by a reader who found Christian Grey's distinctive seduction techniques unappealing in the cold light of morning.
