Charity of the week: National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations
NCUSAR is dedicated to improving American knowledge of the Arab countries, the Mideast, and the Islamic world.
Founded in 1983, the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations (ncusar.org) is an American educational organization dedicated to improving American knowledge and understanding of the Arab countries, the Mideast, and the Islamic world. It aims to promote relations between the U.S. and Arab countries based on reciprocal respect for those countries’ histories and values, working through programs for leadership development, people-to-people exchanges, lectures, publications, and fellowships to allow American students and faculty to study in the Arab world. It sponsors an annual Arab-U.S. policymakers conference in Washington to discuss pressing issues in the Arab world, and seeks to further solidify relationships between the U.S. and its Arab partners, friends, and allies.
Each charity we feature has earned a four-star overall rating from Charity Navigator, which rates not-for-profit organizations on the strength of their finances, their control of administrative and fundraising expenses, and the transparency of their operations. Four stars is the group’s highest rating.
